With over 20 years of experience spanning classrooms, boardrooms, and startup ecosystems across the globe, David Yi has dedicated his life to helping students thrive.

He’s built education programs, advised families, and led Asia operations for ACT.org and K12.com, bringing world-class learning opportunities to students across the region.

A seasoned investor and Managing Partner at Ethos Fund, David has backed startups across Asia and the US. He’s also a serial entrepreneur with eight companies under his belt—including two successful exits.

He co-founded GiftedTalented.com (“GT”) not just as an educator turned entrepreneur and investor, but as a father navigating the very real challenge of nurturing a child's brilliance in a high-pressure, fast-moving world. GT was born from that dual perspective: to help families everywhere discover, develop, and direct their children's unique gifts.

He earned his JD from the University of Chicago Law School, but his truest education has come from sitting at kitchen tables—with students, with founders, and now, with his own children.

Above all, David believes giftedness isn’t about test scores or trophies. It’s about becoming the truest, most alive version of yourself. His mission is to equip families with the tools, insight, and confidence to guide that journey with wisdom and joy.

At home, he’s just “dad”—still learning, still growing, and still figuring out how to raise happy, amazing humans.
